Building student's emotional resilience through cycle awareness.

Howami is an immersive menstrual and emotional learning tool for young people and teachers.

Howami is currently in development

We are actively seeking forward thinking schools for our pilot program and will be offering considerable benefits for members.

Our qualified experts have been teaching children about menstruation for years. Let us show you the benefits of our approach to Menstrual and Emotion awareness.

Right now we can (for no cost):

  • help you reframe the discussion around menstrual education to reduce stigma

  • make menstrual awareness more inclusive

  • show methods of communicating an often sensitive subject in creative ways

Why Howami?

Facts matter, but self-understanding is a skill that can last a lifetime. Howami gives students a life-skill that will become second nature.

Repetition is key to building new skills. Howami is designed to be fun and engaging with creative tools students love, to keep them coming back day after day.

Mental Health problems are more than twice as likely to occur in girls than boys. Enabling a broad understanding of individual hormonal patterns reduces the chances of psychological disturbances.

Social Media is where students are learning about menstruation. Misinformation is rife amongst boys and girls. We must provide a better alternative - using the tools they love!

The state of menstrual education.

  • In a recent Bristol University study; "7/10 of former students reported having received no practical information on managing menstruation and menstrual health.”

  • “An average of 54 days absences per student due to periods over the course of teen school and college years.”

  • National Curriculum states that students should be taught “the implications of menstruation for both physical and emotional health”. Not just the biological facts.

  • The OFSTED Framework Guidance states that “Inspectors will focus on whether pupils have sufficient age-appropriate awareness and understanding of the protected characteristics.” (Para 349) These include “willingness to reflect on their own experiences of sex, gender, and body development.”

With Howami, students develop a stronger sense of self-worth and a language to advocate for their needs — both emotionally and physically.

1

Empower Students

Howami gives students a private, supportive space to:

  • Build body literacy and emotional fluency using cycle-aware check-ins

  • Explore evolving “Inner Worlds” linked to their own cycle rhythms

  • Learn how to identify, name and express emotions with confidence

  • Reflect on growth through AI-assisted end-of-cycle summaries

2

Improve Confidence and Behaviour

Howami tackles root causes by:

  • Reducing anxiety and confusion through emotion-cycle connection.

  • Providing a safe outlet for expressing emotion, pain, fatigue, or dis-regulation.

  • Encouraging healthier relationships with the body, rather than shame or fear.

  • Developing a stronger sense of self-worth and a language to advocate for their needs — both emotionally and physically.

  • With routine check-ins and accessible reflection tools, students become more in control of their wellbeing — and more likely to stay in school.

3

Open up Conversations

  • Normalised conversation around the cycle — reframed through the empowering metaphor of the “Inner Seasons”.

  • Non-judgemental, anonymous journaling that removes the fear of embarrassment.

  • In-built learning summaries communicate insights gained to teachers.

  • Resources for teachers to facilitate inclusive PSHE lessons that dismantle stigma and foster empathy.

  • Optional Parent Companion tool to help conversations continue at home.

Learning a new skill requires repetition and not just one lesson.

Howami is a platform students want to return to day-after-day.

Howami safeguards users by operating a strict data policy, never sharing data with a third party, keeping user inputs anonymised, routine learning summary sharing with teachers or parents with user consent, and a gentle red-flag policy that notifies a trusted adult if/when issues arise.
